If your electric bill keeps going up or your power feels unreliable,

this may be a smarter way to take back control of your energy costs.

No system ownership. No upfront cost.

Just a more predictable way

to manage energy at home.

Why This Makes Sense.

  • Backup Power During Outages

  • Predictable Monthly Energy Payment

  • No System Purchase Required (Subject to Approval)

  • 25-Year Equipment Coverage

Here’s why more homeowners are starting to look at options like this: Most homeowners looking

at this are dealing with rising bills, unpredictable charges, or power that doesn’t always feel reliable.

25-Year Equipment Coverage

No Property Liens

In many areas, utility supply and delivery costs

have increased significantly, making it harder for

homeowners to plan their monthly expenses.

Why Some Homeowners Are Taking a Closer Look

For many homeowners, the problem is not just high bills β€” it’s that those bills keep rising and are getting harder to control.

Monthly bills can fluctuate without warning

Utility supply and delivery charges continue rising

Power outages and grid reliability concerns are becoming more common

This program is designed to help address those exact problems.

By pairing home battery storage with a structured energy payment model, some homeowners are

choosing a more predictable way to manage energy costs while adding backup power protection at home.

How the Process Works

PG&E, SDGE, SCE and Sunrun Residential Battery-Powered Virtual Power Plant

PG&E and Sunrun partnered to demonstrate how aggregated home battery systems

can support grid reliabilitywhile providing benefits to participating homeowners.

Eligible Sunrun residential batteries are enrolled in a virtual power plant

(VPP), allowing their stored energy to be coordinated during grid events to reduce peak demand and enhance system resilience.

The program operates by aggregating capacity from enrolled Sunrun home batteries into a

centrally managed VPP that can be dispatched to meet local grid needs. During grid reliability events,

Sunrun coordinates with PG&E to dispatch stored energy from participating systems;

homeowners retain backup power for their homes and may receive program incentives subject

to eligibility and program terms.

Energy Grid Relief is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by PG&E or any government agency.

Why a 3.5% Adjustment Make Sense

The program includes an approximate 3.5% annual adjustment. Many homeowners

prefer a known, scheduled change over unpredictable utility increases that can be higher and come with little notice.

No surprise jumps

While utility rates can change unpredictably, this program is

structured around a clear, scheduled adjustment.

Clear expectations

For many homeowners, predictability matters more than

trying to guess where future utility rates will go.

Why Predictability Matters

Traditional utility pricing can change over time with limited visibility into future increases.

This program uses a contr payment structure with an approximate annual adjustment, which may give

qualified homeowners more clarity and fewer surprises when planning long-term energy costs.
